Women's Health Connecticut provides full billing and collections services through our Central Billing Office. Our Central Billing Office currently files all claims for over 200 providers including Ob/Gyns and Urologists. Working closely with our Managed Care and Coding Teams we assure that we meet current industry guidelines and regulations.
Our professional staff of over 50 employees are dedicated in the following areas to provide the following advantages:
- Customer Service - We handle all the patient calls regarding balance after insurance,
outstanding co-pays, patient deductions and Medicare covered/non-covered services.
- Self-Pay Collections - We do all patient billing and follow up phone calls. We have an aggressive self-pay team that will exhaust all efforts before sending the bill to an outside collection agency. We work with the physician practice at the point of agency collection so that they are involved with the decision making to place their patient into collections.
- Insurance Collections - Claims are followed up in a timely manner. The percent of claims paid within 90 days of submission is over 93%, compared to MGMA averages of 72%.
- Payment Posting - All payments are posted in the Central Billing Office including Electronic remittance.
Our Results:
- Overall age of the outstanding receivables is at 36 Days, far exceeding MGMA's average of 61 days.
- Prompt filing of primary insurance allows for secondary filings to occur within the first sixty days.
- Electronic submissions prevent loss from paper claims submission and speed up of cash flow assuring less days in AR.
- Enhanced scanning technology reduced turn-around-time for secondary claims submission from 3 weeks to 2 days.
