"I always knew.” Often, those who want to help others know from a young age. This was the case for Dr. Michael Lavallee.
"I always knew.” Often, those who want to help others know from a young age. This was the case for Dr. Michael Lavallee. Though he always wanted to work with and help people, it wasn’t until college that he decided to do so as a doctor.
During his third year as a medical student at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Lavallee realized he liked the continuity of care found by following gynecological and obstetrical patients through all aspects of life. Dr. Lavallee appreciates that obstetrics and gynecology is one of the few fields that allow a doctor to not only diagnose medical problems but also treat them without referring patients to another specialist.
After completing his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Lavallee wanted to practice medicine closer to his hometown, Norwich, CT, to be closer to family. It’s no wonder he chose a practice like Shoreline Ob Gyn in New London which has such a tight-knit, family atmosphere. With only four doctors at the practice, every obstetrical patient has the opportunity to meet the doctor that will deliver her baby during her treatment, something Dr. Lavallee values in his work.
Though Shoreline Ob Gyn is a small practice, like Dr. Lavallee, the physicians’ training and expertise is extensive. Patients can expect to be treated by their doctor with the best, most advanced techniques such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
While Dr. Lavallee is not treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, including their boxer, Bella, enjoying the ocean, and traveling.
Dr. Lavallee is currently accepting patients. You can schedule an appointment with him by calling Shoreline Ob Gyn at (860)447-2377.
