Improving Lives at Home and Abroad: Dr. Ryan Summerall

by Morgan Wilson | Apr 19, 2016
The best healthcare comes from providers who are dedicated to excellence in their profession and show compassion for their patients. Ryan Summerall is one such doctor. He not only takes the time during each patient visit to really listen to patients, he is also an exceptional surgeon; one of the first Gynecologists certified with the Essentials of Minimally Invasive Gynecology Exam.

Although Dr. Summerall didn’t always plan on becoming an ob/gyn, he has always had a desire to help others, which in turn led him to med school.  He found himself gravitating toward pregnant patients and so decided to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology which also gave him the chance to pursue his passion in surgery. His pursuit of this field not only gives him the opportunity to help improve the lives of local women on a daily basis, but he has also taken his skills abroad to help those less fortunate. He has made two trips to Central America, Honduras, and Nicaragua to volunteer his skills to those who otherwise would not receive proper healthcare. These trips have had a deep impact on Dr. Summerall and he plans to continue his aid work in the future.

Dr. Summerall settled in Connecticut at Middlesex Obstetrical & Gynecological Associates after living in all parts of the country and even the world. He’s called places from Houston, Texas, to New York, and even London, England, home. After completing his Obstetrics and Gynecology Internship and Residency training at Danbury Hospital, Dr. Summerall set out to find a practice to join in Connecticut. He chose Middlesex Obstetrical & Gynecological Associates where he met Dr. Fred Siegel, who reminded him of his admired mentor.

If you are looking for an ob/gyn that stresses the importance of an honest, open doctor-patient relationship, Dr. Summerall is accepting new patients. He values the opportunity to provide personalized care through a small, family-oriented practice. Call Middlesex Obstetrical and Gynecological Associates at (860) 347-7491.
