When it comes to being a woman, the day-to-day aspects of staying healthy can be anything but mundane. Women are beautifully unique and we believe diagnoses, treatment, and maintenance of women’s health issues should be addressed with specialty care.

When it comes to being a woman, the day-to-day aspects of staying healthy can be anything but mundane. Women are beautifully unique and we believe diagnoses, treatment, and maintenance of women’s health issues should be addressed with specialty care. It was in 1999 that Dr. Adine Regan joined Women’s Health Specialty Care and in turn, Women’s Health Connecticut as it presented her with the perfect opportunity to focus specifically on female urology and specialize on issues affecting women. At that time there were approximately 163 female board certified urologists vs. 8,000 male board certified urologists in the country. This statistic helped inspire Dr. Regan to personally focus her expertise and care to meet the needs of women in Connecticut.

Dr. Regan always wanted to be a surgeon. She liked the idea of a challenge; solving a medical mystery and seeing the positive outcome for the patient. So following completion of her surgical internship, Dr. Regan went on to complete her residency in urology. “I saw this profession as a rewarding experience” shared Dr. Regan, “I love that I get to go home knowing that I changed another women’s life.” Driven by her dedication to provide her patient’s with the best possible care, Dr. Regan continues to focus her efforts on specialized female urology problems such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain and female sexual dysfunction.

When it comes to caring for her patients, Dr. Regan addresses their concerns in a compassionate manner and lets them know they are not alone. “I want my patients to know that I care about what they are going through and will work with them to correct their urologic issues. I don’t want them to feel isolated or as if they are the only person with this problem.”

In addition to personalized and specialized female urological services, Dr. Regan and Women’s Health Specialty Care offer Ideal Protein®, a medically directed weight loss program and are currently conducting clinical research in Female Sexual Dysfunction, Pelvic Pain, and Overactive Bladder.

Together, the providers and staff of Women’s Health Specialty Care consistently provide their patients with a comfortable environment, and compassionate, high quality care. They are currently accepting new patients.
