Alison Birdsey, CNM, is a graduate of Russell Sage College where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She earned her Master of Science Degree at Boston College, and a Post Master's Certificate from SUNY Stony Brook. Alison has been a women’s health nurse practitioner since 1997, and a practicing certified nurse-midwife since 2001. Alison is also a certified lactation counselor.
Alison’s patient care focus includes health promotion for women of all ages and she strives to empower women to make healthy choices. Her clinical interests include nutrition and exercise counseling, prenatal education, pregnancy and birth care, breastfeeding support, education and care for women in menopause, women’s sexual health including new advances in treatment of decreased libido, and treatment of mood disorders common in various stages of reproductive life.
Alison spends her time outside the office climbing mountains, hiking, and camping.
